Have a question not answered here? E-mail us at info@austin10kplus.com.

What is the age minimum for the Austin 10K Plus?

All participants must be at least 16 years of age to compete.  Those under the age of 18 on race day will have a parental release and waiver form required to be signed at packet pick-up

How does the relay team work?  How do I get back to the finish line?

Relay teams must designate one person to run the first half of the race.  The person running the second half will then be transported to the midway line by race staff.  When the relay partner arrives, either a timing chip or bracelet is exchanged, and the second runner finishes the race.  The first runner is then transported back to the finish line.

Do I have to register online?

Yes. We try to keep the entry fee for the event as low as possible. Having registration be 100% online allows us to reduce our costs, thereby keeping the entry fee low. You may pay online using a credit card or debit card.

Are ipod’s permitted?

Yes, headphones and mp3 players are permitted on the 10k+ course.

If I am injured, sick or otherwise not able to participate in the Austin 10K Plus, can I get my entry fee refunded, transferred to another individual, or rolled over to the next year?

Registration is non-refundable and cannot be rolled over to a future race.

Are there any discounts available for the Austin 10K Plus?

Yes, sign up early to get the advertised special on the race info page!

Are awards based on clock (gun) time or chip time?

All awards are based on chip time.

What is the difference between chip time and clock (gun) time?

Clock time is the time it takes from the official start of the race to when you cross the finish line. Chip time is the time it takes you to go from the start line to the finish line, regardless of when you cross the start line.

How do I find out about race changes due to inclement weather?

The Austin 10K Plus will run, rain or shine.

When and where is the packet pickup? What if I cannot make it?

All participants must come by to get your race packet, which includes your timing chip, bib, t-shirt, and more, on Saturday, April 28th (location to be set two weeks prior to race date).  If you cannot make it, you are permitted to send someone else on your behalf.  If you are located more than one hour away (per the address you registered with), please email info@austin10kplus.com to get an exception and instructions for race day pick-up.

If I am party of a two person team, do we both need to come to packet pickup?

No, only one person is required to show up.

Where do I park on race day?

Free race day parking will be on the west side of the Dell Diamond.  Enter the park by the Salt Lick restaurant.

What if I have never run in an adventure race before?

That’s okay! The Austin 10K Plus is a great event for beginners and experienced athletes.

Is there a Clydesdale or Athena category?

No. There are only the age group divisions.
